Solano RCD currently has 2 vacancies for the Education Program Manager position. Individuals selected for this position will typically report to the Solano RCD office located in Dixon, CA, but will also attend meetings, events, and field trips in the cities of Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, Vallejo and some unincorporated areas of Solano County. Meetings and some project activities may also take place virtually. The Education Program Manager manages several K-12 education programs and provides recruitment and outreach for new staff and programs. The person in this position must be civic-minded and enjoy interacting with diverse communities; work well with a dynamic and collaborative team as well as independently; and have strong time management and organization skills. The Education Program Manager reports to the Education Director and will assist with oversight of 2-8 full and part-time education staff.

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in ecology, biology, environmental science, K-12 education, environmental education or similar field;

Experience: 7 years of previous professional work experience in outreach and community engagement (or 5+ years’ experience plus graduate degree), including some previous project management experience

*Additional experience may be substituted for Bachelors degree

Required Skills:

Experience managing and implementing programs , Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in related field , Certifications in a relevant field and/or completion of outdoor science teaching program, Outstanding writing and communication skills , Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills , Experience writing program curriculum, Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of outdoor science and environmental education , Experience coordinating large field trip even

Preferred Skills:

Basic understanding of the natural and cultural history of Solano County and the water resources of the region

The ability to speak, read, and/or write in a language other than English representative of Solano County’s diverse communities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
