Overview
This is a full-time backpacking guide position. The responsibilities of the guide include organizing trip logistics (food planning and prep, gear prep), conducting trip orientations, all cooking, cleaning and camp chores, in-field repair and maintenance of SYMG gear, completion of trip reports and facilitating a safe, fun and memorable experience for paying clients while in the backcountry.
Qualifications:
- Experience leading backcountry trips
- Current WFR
- California Food Handler's Certificate
- Leave No Trace Awareness Course
- Own your own vehicle, in good working order
- Must be 21 years of age by Summer, 2024
- Availability from June 1-Sept 30, though exact dates are flexible
Required Skills:
-Excellent conversational, group management, & leadership skills
- Excellent backcountry cooking skills
-Ability to effectively collaborate with other staff and work in a small community environment
-Must be able to learn quickly and take initiative, be self-directed
