Overview

Position Purpose:

The Operations Program Director is part of the Field Education leadership team and is responsible for the programmatic and financial oversight of all aspects of Field Education at Teton Science Schools. This leadership position works directly with the Head of Field Education and the other Directors of Field Education to vision and execute the strategic plan, facilitate the professional growth of all members of the Field Education team, enable transformative programming and leverage the resources of Field Education to support other program areas and the mission of Teton Science Schools. The Operations Director ensures smooth operations of all Field Education programs through a focus on risk management, financial systems, hiring systems, and campus operating systems.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

Primarily based at the Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools with time commitments also at the Kelly campus along with potential meetings/interactions/work on all campuses locations

Primarily indoors in an office setting: sitting and standing for long stretches while using a computer

Stretches of time outdoors in all weather, including extreme temperatures and arid conditions

May be expected to work evenings, holidays or weekends to support programs and events

Carry a backpack of 20+ lbs for 8 hours a day over uneven terrain

Time spent hiking/camping in front- and back-country settings

Able to drive 15 passenger vans for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day)

Qualifications:

Master's degree or equivalent work experience preferred

Minimum of four years of experience teaching/leading in informal (outdoor/environmental education) and/or formal (K-12) settings

Minimum of two years experience coaching educators and/or outdoor leaders

Experience and ability to manage risk and make leadership decisions in front and backcountry settings

Required Skills:

Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in education and in the workplace

Superior organizational and prioritization skills

Familiarity with and Google Apps
