Launched Fall 2018, The Forest School at Trilith—Fayetteville, GA—joins a growing network of Acton Academy Schools worldwide that are building on the success of the original Acton Academy in Austin, Texas.
As a Guide you will:
Lead a Studio (our term for classroom) —supervising Heroes, setting schedules, guiding Heroes to create, uphold, and update Contract, growing as a Guide, and modeling the role for Apprentice Guides
Design Studios for learning, safety, and belonging
Plan intentionally for fast, broad, deep, and co-create Badge Plans with Heroes, their families, and Head Guides
Design, lead, and model all signature learning experiences, including regular 1-1 Check-Ins, Badge Reviews, Launches, Civ, Story Arts, Quest, Socratic Target Practice, Town Hall, etc.
Learn to co-author Civ, Story Arts, and Quest curriculum
Update weekly blogs every Thursday and Studio health every Monday
Manage IEP and psychological evals and lead Hero-parent-Guide conferences
Be present for team meetings, Open Houses, Welcome and Closing Parties, Exhibitions, and other school events
Assure world class communication to Heroes, staff, and parents, and report serious matters confidentially to Head Guides and Head of School
Organize subs when gone
Continual learning from Institute findings and contributions to the Institute’s learning agenda
Other tasks as assigned by division heads and/or Head of School
