The Jack and Laura Dangermond Preserve (the Preserve) is one of the Conservancy’s most important assets, encompassing 24,000 acres of pristine land and eight miles of oceanfront at Point Conception along California’s rugged Central Coast. The Preserve aims to connect the ancient past with the future, hosting world-class researchers developing new insights into climate change and the intersection of conservation and technology while also exploring 10,000 years of human occupation and rebuilding a connection with the indigenous peoples who once inhabited Point Conception. The Visitation Coordinator will be a central member of the Preserve’s operations team, helping to ensure that scientists, educators and other visitors to the Preserve have safe, rewarding and efficient visits to the Preserve.

The Visitation Coordinator is on the front lines of introducing visitors to TNC’s Jack and Laura Dangermond Preserve, providing the customer service, scheduling and operational support needed to make sure visitors to the Preserve have a smooth, safe and rewarding experience from first contact through to completion of their visit. Excellent visitation coordination is essential to the Preserve’s mission and to supporting the many active areas of programming including conservation, fundraising, stewardship, education, community relations and scientific research. Above all else the Visitation Coordinator must be focused on customer service and coordination and enjoy interacting with customers and fellow team members. The Visitation Coordinator handles communications with donors, educational groups, scientists and other visitors to the Preserve, providing them with essential information before and during visits. The candidate must be proficient in multi-channel verbal and written communications, adept at scheduling and using online calendaring and visit tracking applications, and responsive to email and other communications with visitors and staff. And the Visitation Coordinator must have a demonstrated track record of multi-tasking and timely follow-through on requests. The Visitation Coordinator will report to the Preserve’s Visitation Manager and will be a core member of the Preserve’s operations team.
