Overview

Job Objective: The Staffing Assistant supports the Staffing Director in assigning field staff members to the company’s hiking and backpacking tours to ensure that each department is properly staffed to meet business demands. The Staffing Assistant helps manage field staff member schedules and program demands as well as fulfill delegated tasks assigned by the Staffing Director.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Staff trips based on criteria set by Ownership and Staffing Director
• Assist in the maintenance of staffing hierarchy
• Assist with the maintenance and implementation of the Guide Portal in which field staff members maintain their availability for scheduling
• Maintain field staff certification records, such as mandatory Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and CPR certifications; submit these field staff records to land management agencies as required by company Commercial Use Authorizations (CUA) or permits
• Assist with the maintenance of staffing profiles
• Provide feedback to field staff on their performance, improvement strategies and staffing hierarchy
• Assist with Annual Evaluations for all field staff
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by Staffing Director

Compensation/Benefits:
• Base Pay: $17/hr
• Overtime at 1.5 times regular pay as approved by supervisor

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
• Strong supervisory, facilitation, organization, written, and verbal communication skills;
• Proficiency with Google Drive apps, Microsoft Office and previous experience with a CRM system (Salesforce preferred);

Preferred Skills:

- Previous professional experience as a staffing assistant, administrative assistant or similar role (preferred);
- Experience in the tourism, adventure travel and/or outdoor industry (preferred);
