Overview

Lead Instructors plan and lead our youth summer camps, and are responsible for a group of 10-15 campers along with the support of an adult Assistant Instructor and/or teen MIT (Mentor-In-Training). Lead Instructors are responsible for camper safety (physical & emotional), positive group dynamics, and facilitating connection to nature, community, and self. Lead Instructors achieve this through mentoring youth in a variety of nature connection routines such as the art of questioning, sensory awareness, species identification, nature-based games, wildlife tracking, wild edible & medicinal plants, exploration, storytelling, songs, earth-based crafts, wilderness survival skills, earth-based scout skills, and bird language.
