Overview

Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) is hiring Crew Supervisors based out of Spokane, Washington. This position will lead a team of AmeriCorps members working with various public land agencies. This is a temporary position with the potential for extension. Position starts January and runs through until mid-April/early-May (end date TBD).

The Crew Supervisor will work with a variety of partners working on forest health, fire restoration, wildlife habitat and recreation improvement projects. Partner agencies include Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Washington DNR. This position requires extensive travel throughout the state and will also spend much of their time on overnight assignments lasting up to 8 days at a time.

Qualifications:

An Associate's degree in Environmental Science or Studies, Forestry, or closely related field, and one (1) year of experience as a WCC crew member, or similar program (trail work, conservation corps, outdoor education, restoration, etc.)

OR

Three (3) years of experience equivalent to conservation corps field work, young adult mentorship, or leadership.

Required Skills:

Experience working with and leading young adults.

Preferred Skills:

S-212 chainsaw certification, Current Wilderness First Responder. Trail work, restoration or manual labor experience.

These crews partner with state, federal and local agencies to restore habitat, build trails, improve ecosystems and respond to natural disasters.
