Waterford School’s Outdoor program seeks a part-time teacher who will teach at both the Middle and Upper School levels. The ideal candidate will hold WFR certification, technical training in avalanche safety and top rope site management, as well as have a successful history leading young adults in the backcountry with an awareness of adolescents’ social-emotional needs. Our program prioritizes healthy group dynamics, positive risk-taking, and leadership — experience in these soft skills is just as important, if not more, than the technical aspects of the program. A successful candidate will be able to foster healthy relationships with Middle and Upper School students, and will embrace Waterford School’s mission, vision, and values in curriculum, teaching, and membership in the community.
