Overview

The People and Operations Manager is responsible for leading the development of the growing Women’s Wilderness team, as well as overseeing efficiency and excellence in day-to-day operations of our team and facility. Reporting to the Executive Director, the People and Operations Manager is primarily responsible for managing Women’s Wilderness’ human resource function to ensure we have the right people in the right roles with the right resources, tools and support they need to thrive. The secondary function of this role is to oversee the operations of the team in our historic building (The Harbeck-Bergheim House) that we share with other local nonprofits. The ideal candidate for this position is an agile generalist with strong people skills who believes in our mission and thrives in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. This is a full-time, exempt position based out of our Boulder headquarters, with the possibility of occasional remote work.

Qualifications:

This position is suited for a strategic, passionate leader interested in nonprofit management and social justice and environmental progress work. A successful applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience (see list below), with the necessary skills to motivate and lead a team of professionals in developing and maintaining dynamic and sustainable programs that support and advance Women’s Wilderness’ commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Required Skills:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience; ideally 2+ years of human resources experience
Experience and demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse racial, geographic, religious, sexual, gender, and generational backgrounds
Ability to incorporate an anti-racist and anti-oppression lens into Women’s Wilderness’ people-focused operations
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound independent judgment
