Overview
The purpose of this position is to lead the successful implementation of the Outdoor G.I.R.L.S. program within the Youth Programs team. The Youth Programs Lead oversees the development and implementation of this program, in collaboration with the Youth Programs Manager. This position includes both administrative and direct-service roles, facilitating sessions with older elementary, middle, and high school girls, meeting with partners, and co-creating programming. The Youth Programs Lead will report to the Youth Programs Manager, communicate daily programs to and mentor part-time instructors, and collaborate with other members of the Women’s Wilderness team as needed.
Qualifications:
Passion for and experience working in social justice, equity and the outdoors, gender studies, and/or sports/play
Personal experience enjoying the outdoors
Willingness to engage in giving and receiving feedback, model self-reflection and growth
Strong written and verbal communication skills (English as second language is fine)
Excellent organizational skills and ability to track program data using lists, spreadsheets, etc
Required Skills:
Experience working directly with youth of all ages in a school, after-school, community, or sport/play setting
Prior experience or training in Social Emotional work
Strong leadership skills, along with group management, facilitation, and public speaking skills
Experience interacting with people with diverse backgrounds
Proficient with Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets
Current child & adult First Aid, CPR & AED
Preferred Skills:
Bi/multilingual applicants are highly encouraged to apply
Experience/strong understanding of immigrant rights/integration, gender, race and/or equity
Degree in mental health related field and/or relevant experience
WFR/WFA certification
Experience driving 15 passenger van
