Overview

The Girls Lead For Life (GLFL) Instructors, working alongside the Girls Lead for Life Coordinator, will co-instruct the successful implementation of the Girls Lead for Life curriculum that builds an open and welcoming course culture for participants, while managing and mitigating all risks for the group. The Instructor, working alongside the Coordinator, will pick up participants at school and drive them to the climbing gym where they will co-facilitate weekly 2-hour sessions. Once the session is over, the instructor team will be responsible for dropping off participants back at school. The Instructor reports to the Community Programs Manager and collaborates with the Women’s Wilderness team as needed.

Required Skills:

Must possess a valid Driver’s License, strong driving record, and at least 3 years of driving experience.
Current Child & Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
Experience leading or instructing youth and diverse/non-dominant populations (girls, BIPOC youth, and/or LGBTQ+ youth).
Experience working with, and serving as a role model for youth in a school, after-school, community, or sport/play setting.
Skilled in facilitating group discussions, promoting awareness, and identifying teachable moments

Preferred Skills:

Current AMGA certification as a Single Pitch Instructor.
Current Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness First Aid certification.
Experience working in a wilderness setting in outdoor education or wilderness therapy.
Prior experience or training in socio-emotional work.
Bi/multilingual applicants are highly encouraged to apply.
Personal experience recreating in the outdoors.
Experience driving a 15-passenger van.
