YMCA of the Rockies Environmental Education Program is hiring teachers for the fall season! Under the direction of the Environmental Education Director, Environmental Education Instructors will teach environmental education classes, lead team-building activities, perform organization and cleaning tasks, communicate with schools and school leaders, and assist in any projects or tasks that better the Outdoor Education Program.
Contract dates are August 22nd-November 4th and the pay is 13.06, plus 50 cents per hour gratuity add-on, and a 50 cent per hour end-of-contract completion bonus. Housing and food are provided (rate changes each season). Opportunity to extend work agreement into another position or department until April 2023.
Benefits: Instructors receive three paid-for certifications: Wilderness First Aid (WFA), Project Learning Tree (PLT), and Better Environmental Education Learning Teaching Expertise Sharing (BEETLES). Along with two weeks of staff development training on natural history, team building (low ropes course), adventure, lesson planning, EDI, working with students with disabilities, and more! Staff will also get to join the YMCA of the Rockies Staff Experience outings that go into Rocky Mountain National Park and do day trips to other parts of Northern Colorado. Staff receive opportunity to opt-in to Rocky Mountain Living Package which includes laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, utilities, lodging, all meal expenses, free gear rentals, and the opportunity to live walking distance to Rocky Mountain National Park.
