YMCA Camp Menogyn in Grand Marais, MN is seeking an experienced Program Director! This role will be residential May through September and remote/hybrid in the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons. The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth development, DEI and making camp accessible to all; have wilderness leadership experience including hiring responsibilities and leading teams of 60+ and strong experience in risk and safety. Job Summary:
The Camp Program Director is responsible for developing and coordinating relevant programs, conferences, and retreats offered at the camp. The incumbent develops plans in consultation with the Camp Executive Director and/or Senior Program Director, with oversight by the Executive, to develop and market high quality programs and facilities offered at the camp on a year-round basis.
Qualifications:
Minimum age of 25 years.
Minimum of three (3) years camp or related experience
Minimum of one (1) camp season of supervisory experience.
Relevant previous experience in developing, implementing, administering camp or youth programs.
Ability to demonstrate considerable skill and experience in program leadership and management.
Experienced in outdoor living skills, first aid, risk and emergency management.
Demonstrated skills in group development, recruitment, training and the supervision of staff
Required Skills:
Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR/AED provided by YMCA or other certified organization (may be obtained upon hire but must be completed before an employee supervises youth)
Preferred Skills:
· Ability to become DQF (formerly DOT) certified driver.
· Bachelor’s degree
· Multilingual
