Shifting Gears is rooted in Whatcom County Washington, where it has steadily grown since its inception in 2017. Founded with a vision of fostering inclusivity and breaking down barriers in outdoor recreation, our organization has evolved into a pillar of support and empowerment for women seeking outdoor adventures.
We empower women to embrace the outdoors with confidence and enthusiasm, fostering a lifelong connection to nature, adventure, and personal growth. Over the past three years, Shifting Gears has served more than 4000 participants. Our history, mission, and purpose converge in a commitment to empowering women and diversifying outdoor engagement within Bellingham and Whatcom County.
