Does the outdoors call to you? Do you feel a genuine connection to nature and can’t wait to inspire youth to find their own love for the outdoors? As a Backpacking Specialist at our Windy Peak Overnight Camp, you will do exactly that by guiding kids on multi-day backpacking adventures. Instructors are the cornerstone of our team, providing support, mentorship, and instruction to our campers with enthusiasm and passion. Instructors provide 24-hour care for our campers and act as their primary support while in cabin, on/off property, on expeditions, and more. This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to make a lasting impact for dozens of campers this summer.
In this role you will:
Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities.
Guide an overnight experience, ranging from an 1-night overnight onsite to a 5-day backpacking trip.
Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals.
Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities.
Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants.
Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs.
