Overview
The position of Activity Leader (AL) is a fun and rewarding role where you plan and deliver the exciting social programme that Bucksmore summer schools offer to students. Whilst more traditional language learning takes place in the classrooms, the activity programme provides another environment for using and practicing the English language. Enthusiastic and fun Activity Leaders are a key part to the success of a summer academic programme and to ensuring the enjoyment of our students, as well as heir safety.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be aged 18 or over
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK
Native or native level English speaker
Required Skills:
Experience of working in a language and activity based summer school or similar environment.
Experience of running activity programmes and/or events for young people
Experience working with 10-18 year olds either through voluntary or paid work
Flexibility and adaptability
Ability and desire to work in a team
Excellent communication skills
An understanding of child safeguarding
An outgoing and sociable character
Willingness and ability to work as part of a team
Consistently demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude
Preferred Skills:
First aid qualification
Background of leading sessions or workshops in art, music, sports, journalism or drama
Sports coaching qualification
About Bucksmore Education
Bucksmore provides academic short courses to students aged 10-18 that have been modelled on American summer camps, with ‘Counsellors’ who live with students, teach lessons and lead excursions and activities, providing a higher level of pastoral care, guidance, and friendship – giving students more than just ‘teachers’ and ‘activity leaders’ at a summer school.
