Overview

We are seeking leaders for our intensive three or six week leadership training program for high school students who have finished 9th grade (“The Bears”). The Bear program’s leaders strive to instill in all participants a sense of personal responsibility through a wilderness backpacking trip, leading camp activities for younger campers, and stewardship of Glen Brook’s forested and farm landscape.

Leaders are responsible for working with the Program Director to orchestrate all aspects of the Bear program.
Salary: $3,360-3,840 based on experience and qualifications, plus room and board.
June 8th – August 11th (option to work August 16th-20th for Family Camp)

Qualifications:

Age 18+
Enthusiasm for working with youth
Experience with wilderness trips

Preferred Skills:

Experience with some of these skills preferred: canoeing, backpacking, climbing, and leave-no-trace camping

Camp Glen Brook is a year-round outdoor education facility. We are set apart by our small size, our home grown home cooked farm-to-table food, and our background in Waldorf Education. We serve school groups throughout the fall and spring, we run a Summer Camp, and we run a fall and spring Gap semester program.
