Food Manager
The Food Manager oversees the food operations of our 170-person camp community each session. Taking into consideration allergies as well as nutritional standards set by the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), the Food Manager ensures that healthy, balanced and pleasing meals are provided for the children & staff.
With help from Food Assistants, the Food Manager:
• Packs breakfast, lunch, and dinner ingredients for each group in camp accommodating for individual camper and staff allergies and dietary restrictions
• Packs all the food that groups take out on multi-day backpacking trips
• Keeps records of all the ordering and inventory
• Keeps detailed records to comply with SFSP’s requirements
Dates: June 14, 2026 – August 18, 2026
Compensation: $8,000
Qualifications:
• Comfortable living full time in an outdoor environment
• Experience in the food service industry
• Understanding of good nutritional practices and food safety regulations
• Must complete Food Service Manager certification prior to start of season
• Organized, good at time management and have supervisory experience, (will manage Food Assistants & volunteers.)
• Basic math & spreadsheet skills required for ordering, inventory, and record keeping.
• Must be able to lift and carry bulk foods.
