Overview

We are hiring two Outdoor Educator/Nature Guides (one for each campus) to be part of our summer team of Camp Wildcraft Guides (AKA Counselors). Camp Wildcraft is a Los Angeles based Art and Nature Day Camp. Our two locations are in Malibu and Calabasas and staff need to be commuting distance to camp. We are seeking creative, fun loving leaders who have experience and love hiking, working with kids, going on adventures, sharing knowledge about plants and animals, telling stories, building forts, making stuff, and exploring and finding wonder in the wild. Camp Wildcraft is a place where both our campers and staff thrive and grow each summer.

Our Outdoor Educator/ Wildcraft Guide work as part of a collaborative team of Guides to supervise, inspire and create engaging activities for our multi-age groups (ages 4-14). IN ADDITION our Outdoor Educator will help to lead our daily hikes and nature activities (with additional Guides). In Calabasas, we hike along the Santa Monica Mountain trails which are connected to our campus at the MUSE Global School. Our campus is across the street and next to both King Gillette Ranch and Malibu Creek Park in Calabasas. In Malibu, we explore the tadpole filled creek which runs along our campus. We are seeking energetic, warm and fun specialists who have experience hiking and exploring nature with kids, know how to keep kids safe, provide first aid if needed and are able to engage kids with activities and observations on the trail.

Our summer staff are trained to build on, and harness their own strengths and experiences to build a warm, kind, inclusive and inspiring community where campers and staff feel a greater connection to each other–and the natural world.

Camp runs June 12th-August 9th with weekly camper sessions. Mandatory Staff training takes place June 9th -11th. Staff hours are 8am-4pm Monday through Friday

Vehicle needed to get to our camp locations. Staff need to live commuting distance from our Calabasas or Malibu locations.
