Overview

Position Summary:

The Field Technician’s primary responsibilities are training, supporting, and mentoring seasonal field staff including Crew Leaders and AmeriCorps Members; assisting with recruitment and selection of members and leaders; providing technical support to crews in the field; scouting projects and building relationships with on-the-ground partners; ensuring CCNC programming, policies, and procedures are implemented effectively in the field.

The primary focus for this position is supporting crews and projects in Western North Carolina – supporting the implementation of CCNC’s Hurricane Helene disaster recovery projects. Both field work and office work are required in this position, with frequent and prolonged trips to the field. The ability to work a flexible schedule is critical and expected.

About Conservation Corps North Carolina

The mission of Conservation Corps North Carolina (CCNC) is to empower young adults through meaningful outdoor work that benefits North Carolina’s land and water and creates healthy communities. CCNC is a program of Conservation Legacy that partners with public land managers in North Carolina to engage motivated young adults (ages 18-30) to complete challenging and impactful conservation service projects throughout the region. Projects may include trail construction & maintenance, habitat improvement, hazard fuel reduction, and ecological restoration. Crews may also complete technical and/or specialized projects depending on project partner needs.
