Job Objective: The Bachechi Caretaker and Educator will live on site at Bachechi Open Space in Albuquerque and perform regular caretaking duties and educational programs as outlined in our contract with Bernalillo County (who manage the Bachechi property). Since 2011, Cottonwood Gulch has been the official caretakers of Bachechi, assisting with the day-to-day activities of the 18-acre park and providing regular educational opportunities for school groups and the public.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the position start date and possess a valid driver’s license. Must have a clean driving history and be able to meet the criteria for CGE vehicle insurance coverage.
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or ability to acquire within 60 days of hire.
Strong organizational skills; experience with Google Drive preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of audiences (fellow staff, community members, students, etc.).

Required Skills:

Reside onsite and in the caretaker's house located at 9521 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114 from April 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 or until either party gives 30 days written notice (or less as outlined below) to the other. The contract may be extended beyond June 30, 2023 if all parties agree (CGE, Bernalillo County, Caretaker).
Caretaking Duties: minimum of 30 hours/month completing tasks as designated by Bernalillo County, including trail clean up and maintenance, weeding, pruning, etc.
