Do you have a knack for outdoor adventure? Have you led a group on the trail before? Are you interested in helping campers discover their unplugged potential?
We are currently hiring Field Instructors for our 2022 camp season!!
Every summer we offer a variety of wilderness overnight adventures like canoeing, hiking, rock climbing and more. A few of the places you can expect to see a Farm and Wilderness groups are Camel’s Hump, the Adirondacks, Mount Monadnock, Tupper Lake, Mahoosuc Notch, and the Long Trail.
All Field Instructors will receive comprehensive Wilderness First Aid and CPR certifications from the SOLO school (if you do not already possess a certification). If interested, Farm & Wilderness hosts a Wilderness First Responder in the beginning of June.
As a Field Instructor you will:
1. be responsible for group safety and be the primary decision-maker.
2. Organize and maintain appropriate group gear and food.
3. Navigate itineraries through specific trails or waterways with camper involvement and instruction.
4. Help teach outdoor living skills like bear-bagging and Leave No Trace wilderness ethics.
5. help create epic memories!
About Farm & Wilderness Foundation
Farm & Wilderness Foundation (F&W) is a non-profit, educational organization operating eight summer camp programs for children and young adults. Set on a beautiful 1,500-acre campus in the Green Mountains of Vermont, F&W programs are rich in adventure, community, history, and spirit and foster an individual relationship with the natural world.
