GirlVentures courses are designed to offer girls* age 11-17 an opportunity to develop outdoor skills and environmental awareness, explore identity and social justice, and expand their leadership capacity to become change agents in their communities. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and we seek staff who represent, reflect, and empower our students.
We aim to hire instructors who not only have experience leading and managing risk on backpacking, climbing and kayaking adventures but also have the empathy and self-awareness to responsibly manage complex dynamics and conversations about race, identity and gender in demographically mixed groups of students and staff teams.
*Our programs includes participants who identify as cis female, transgender, gender non-binary or gender expansive.
