Overview

We are a smaller overnight Summer Camp, with 18 campers per week and approximately 10 staff. Housing and all meals provided. $425-$500 per week.
***We will also consider hiring one cook and one part-time cook that could also be a camp counselor or maintenance manager the other half of the week.

Qualified candidates will have experience in a commercial food preparation environment. Candidate should be able to rise early and work long hours, and comfortable in all aspects of food service. Cook will be responsible for preparing, serving and cleaning up to 2-3 meals per day for 6 days per week. Candidate will be responsible for supervision of campers, counselors, and volunteers who may assist with meal preparation, service and clean-up. Candidate should be cheerful, outgoing and enjoy a flexible work schedule. Typical meal schedules are: Breakfast 6:30 am, Lunch 12:30 pm, Dinner 5:30 pm. Camp typically serves between 20 and 30 people at each meal. Typical Summer Camp meals that are served family style. Some meals will be brown bagged and some will be cooked over open fire at the lake. Must be able to accommodate food allergies and dietary restriction. Cook will work with the director to come up with menu and shopping lists.

Job runs June 4-August 15, but can be flexible.

**We also have a college group staying with us September 6-October 1 and our Summer Camp Cook will have first choice at staying and cooking for this group. This college group is a contracted stay, so the pay will be a bit higher for that job and meals and housing are still included.

Qualifications:

1) Experience in a commercial kitchen.
2) First aid, CPR and Serv-safe sanitation certifications, or ability to obtain.
3) Energy, enthusiasm and a healthy attitude toward children.
4) High standards of moral character and personal hygiene.
5) Desire to uphold Christian values with campers in a positive environment.
6) Must pass a background check.

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, at a summer camp, dude ranch, school or similar program is preferred.
