Overview
Specific Duties:
Responsible for planning and management of summer camp program calendars and day to day logistics, including evening programs, campouts, Group Learning Projects, camper and staff activity schedules, mentor cards, and staff time off schedules.
Participate in the ‘on-call team’ during the summer months. Summer months require work hours outside of a typical work week, as our office is staffed 24/7.
Participate in the on-going training of the summer staff team, including onboarding staff emails, staff training, continual coaching throughout the summer, off-boarding engagement after the summer.
Coordinate and manage staff paperwork.
Actively evaluate, supervise, and enthusiastically participate in all camp activities.
Plan and facilitate weekly staff meetings.
Write a daily report for distribution to all directors
Collect and manage all participant paperwork.
Coordinate an operations report each fall for the Board of Directors
Occasional travel required, including but not limited to recruitment efforts, site preparation and planning.
S.E.E. (School of Environmental Education)
Serve as a program assistant to the S.E.E. Directors during the spring & fall season.
Assist with logistics and organizing of school programs
Serve as a mentor for school programs when needed.
Serve as a mentor when needed for KALE program
Marketing
Participate actively in SEE and Summer Camp
Assist with camper leads and inquiries.
Manage onboarding and offboarding of camper parent communication.
Contribute to the website blog
Update GRP website to stay current and correct.
Help with a presentation about summer camp to SEE Groups.
Special Events
As needed, assist with camp special events to include:
Family Camp, retreats, weddings, open houses
Off season programs not related to S.E.E. (Ex. Rookie Camps)
Fundraising events
Farm Feast Dinner
This is a salaried position from March-April 15th, part-time remote work (25hours/week $1500/month) April 15-October 15 ($2400/month) with on-site housing provided.

Green River Preserve, a non-profit, residential summer camp and expeditions program. We are small with a 3:1 camper to staff ratio and operate as a co-ed, non-competitive camp on a 3,400 acre wildlife preserve in Western NC. We offer 1,2, 3 week sessions as well as a variety of extended trip programs. The mission statement of Green River Preserve is to inspire environmental stewards through a joyful connection to nature.
