Overview
The Program Director oversees the supervision, operation, and strategic development of all summer programs, including Discovery Overnight Camp (on-campus sleepover), Day Camp (on- and off-campus day camps), and Adventure Programs (offsite camping-based). This role also encompasses the management of permitting, safety, licensing, equipment, and logistics related to the summer programs. The Program Director will recruit, train, and supervise the Summer Program Managers while supporting the broader team of seasonal summer program staff.
This role requires the ability to thrive in a dynamic, autonomous, and deadline-driven environment, with both a detail-oriented and big-picture focus. The Program Director ensures program quality by developing curricula that meet or exceed expectations and continually improving offerings to expand KSS’s impact and reach. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Program Director will collaborate with other directors and staff to share resources and develop, schedule, market, and implement programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (education, science, management, outdoor recreation) or relevant combined education and demonstrated experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age and must have 12 months (1,820 hours) of verified leadership experience in an administrative or supervisory position with groups of children aged 5 years or older since attaining the age of 18 years.
Current Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and CPR certifications from an approved vendor
