At Open Sky, the Operations Assistant is part of an integrated team that delivers powerful and transformative therapeutic experiences for students and their families, embracing the belief that all people have the capacity to thrive. The primary responsibility of the position is to support daily operations at Open Sky’s operations facility in Mancos and two base camp areas in Utah and Colorado. This involves helping with gear management, facility maintenance and improvement, daily expedition resource needs, and food/supply stocking and deliveries. The position requires consistent and efficient communication with other staff members.
The Operations Assistant handles daily logistics requests and works collaboratively on the maintenance of Open Sky facilities. This position is also cross-trained to directly service student groups in the field and play an active role on the Emergency Response Team, which includes responding to immediate concerns, providing consistent feedback, and participating in significant incident reviews. Primary locations are the Mancos facility and base camps in Colorado and Utah, with occasional time spent at the Durango office. The work schedule is generally four 10-hour days per week, with occasional variation and weekend shifts, plus regular on-call duties. Other duties maybe assigned. The position is eligible for Open Sky’s benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401K) depending on employee classification and hours worked.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;
Must be at least 21 years old. First Aid and CPR certification (within the last year) strongly preferred. Obtain de-escalation and therapeutic holds certification. Have clean driving record and valid driver’s license. Complete DMV release for inquiry and review of driving record. Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening. Pass Colorado, Utah, and FBI background checks. Review and sign Utah Provider Code of Conduct. Provide certified college transcripts, if applicable.
