Field Staff assists in providing outdoor education and leadership development programs for school groups, adult groups, and at-risk youth.

Minimum 18 years of age. Current first aid certification, up to WFR; CPR certification. Outdoor teaching experience with adults and youth.

Required Skills:

Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively alone and in groups. Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to implement and model effective risk management practices and manage field risk for program participants; proven ability to manage group safety in the field. Develop and conduct small and large group lesson plans based on client needs and established curriculum. Follow risk management policies and procedures; document medical and other incidents by filing report.

Preferred Skills:

Perform logistical tasks such as packing and cleaning gear, cooking, maintaining and repairing equipment, and setting up and taking down camp, as appropriate for courses worked. Act to resolve customer problems quickly and satisfactorily, as appropriate. Act in a courteous, responsible, respectful manner towards clients, partners, other Boojum staff, and the public. Participate in training, mentoring, and support of intern, volunteer and other instructional staff, as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
