RMI’s Warehouse is where success on our expeditions begins! Warehouse staff are responsible for the seamless logistics of food and equipment as well as maintaining professional and clean housing areas for mountain guides and non-guide staff. A typical day for a guide service’s warehouse staff could include things like equipment inspection and repair (ropes, tents, etc), quality of life projects within our three housing locations, and preparing duffels of gear & food for all domestic and non-domestic trips departing that day. This is a Summer position with the possibility of year-round employment. All RMI staff get a FREE one-day climbing school and guided Mt. Rainier Summit Climb every Summer as availability allows. Housing is available if required. Starting pay is $15/hour. Our workplace community is extremely climbing-centric and as such there are no shortage of climbing partners. This position is a good starting point for anyone desiring a path to become a mountain guide.
No academic/certificate requirements. Just a healthy interest in the outdoor world.
Mild office computer skills, good communication, self-starter, ability to stay busy with little direction, ability to stand for long periods of time, ability to lift up to 50lbs if needed.
An interest in the outdoors, specifically climbing & mountaineering, is preferred.
