Dates: May 11 – August 15. Some training courses at RMOC may begin before that date.

Schedule: Five days a week, Wednesday – Sunday. Approximately 8am – 5pm. Most days spent in the field, helping to run trips and instructional courses at RMOC. Additional days may be spent in office, logistics, or maintenance tasks compensated hourly, or guiding by the day/half day on trips intern is trained/certified to run.

Objectives: To gain guiding experience in the commercial outdoor recreation, specifically centered around the whitewater industry in the Arkansas River Valley.

Opportunities: RMOC will offer an education in guiding outdoor activities, including: kayaking, rafting, stand-up paddling, rock climbing and mountain biking. Certifications may apply depending on qualifications. Eligible for hire after internship completion.

–Free camping allowed at RMOC with access to bathrooms, potable water, electricity, and Wi-Fi.
–$600 food stipend, paid monthly.
–Access to pro forms.
–Free enrollment in ACA Kayak Instructor course OR SUP Instructor course OR Raft Guide Training Program. Intern will pay the course fee upfront and then be reimbursed upon successful completion of the internship.
–Access to RMOC rental gear through manager approval.
