St. Mark’s School of Texas is seeking experienced outdoor staff to partner with full-time school staff to support the School’s student backpacking trip in August of 2024. The annual Pecos trip consists of a five-night / six-day backpacking trip for 14 and 15 year-old boys led by faculty and staff at St. Mark’s School of Texas. Additional leaders for the trip travel with groups during the time in the backcountry and provide additional oversight while also being integral to the boys’ experience during their time in the backcountry. In addition, these leaders would work closely with the other group leaders, Basecamp team, Director of the Wilderness Program, and the School’s Wilderness medical director in preparation for and during the trip. About St. Mark's School of Texas

St. Mark’s School of Texas is an all-boys school for students in grades 1-12 founded in 1906. For over fifty years, all rising freshmen participate in an eight-day, seven-night backpacking trip in the Pecos Wilderness of New Mexico. Due to the closure of the wilderness in 2022 because of fires, two classes of students will be going for five-night trips this 2024 summer, and we are leading the two trips back-to-back.
