Overview

Assistant Climbing, Backpacking and/or Mountain Bike instructors sought for two week+ programs in May/June 2022 with Seattle-based school with extensive off-campus programs.

Qualifications:

*Clean driving record
*WFA minimum; WFR preferred

Required Skills:

Required:
For all: WFA certification (minimum)
(For climbing)
*Ability to lead intermediate trad and sport climbs plus set, clean, and check institutional trad anchors in complex situations.
*Professional experience managing students in outdoor crags.
(For backpacking)
*Personal/professional experience on extended programs in areas throughout the Cascades, Olympics, and other areas in WA and OR.
(For mountain biking)
*Experience with simple bike maintenance and group management on trails.

Preferred Skills:

*Personal/professional climbing experience areas including the City of Rocks and/or South Dakota's Black Hills are very helpful but not required.
*Personal/professional background in history, anthropology, and/or sciences including biology and geology are very helpful but not required.
*Personal/professional experience mountain biking in Montana are helpful but not required.

About The Bush School

The Bush School (www.bush.edu ) is a K-12, independent school in Seattle, WA with a focus on experiential education. We have an extensive outdoor/adventure education program that includes courses on climbing, whitewater rafting, backcountry skiing, Nordic and alpine skiing, backpacking, sea kayaking, winter camping, and mountain biking. We run field courses and expeditions throughout the American West and Alaska that range from two to three weeks+ in length. The majority of our outdoor programs are led by Bush faculty, but we seek seasonal assistant instructors to supplement our program leaders.
