Overview
The Engagement Coordinator is a new role created to support the Twin Cities program by strengthening connections with partners, schools, families, and other key stakeholders to increase attendance, fill rates, and overall community presence. This position will manage administrative tasks related to partner and family communications, conduct in-person outreach and school visits to prepare students for upcoming programs, and build lasting relationships that support enrollment efforts. The Engagement Coordinator will work closely with Student Services to coordinate and streamline student enrollment processes.
With a 2026 goal of increasing attendance by 20%, this role will be a critical driver of our outreach and growth strategy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Enrollment & Engagement Strategy
Collaborate with Student Services and program team to develop and implement both short- and long-term engagement strategies to improve student attendance and enrollment outcomes.
Plan and attend enrollment events.
Represent VOBS professionally while supporting partners, schools, students, and families in preparing for programs.
INSIGHT Program Support
Utilize and follow established Student Services systems for data tracking and communication, including Salesforce partner portals, attendance monitoring, and enrollment tracking.
Coordinate all pre- and post-program communications with partner coordinators, including:
Confirming site locations, schedules, and meeting details.
Providing pre-program outreach to coordinators 2–4 weeks prior to program start dates.
Sharing timely updates with students and families to ensure program preparedness.
Conduct school visits the week prior to programs to connect with students and staff.
Gather, organize, and review post-program documentation and materials.
Send post-program follow-up communications to partner coordinators, students, and families.
Upload program photos to the course website following each program week.
Create and distribute INSIGHT Outward Bound Outcomes Survey Impact Reports to partners at the end of the season.
Expedition Program Support
Collaborate with the Twin Cities Program Management Team and Partnership Manager to support partner and participant preparation for expeditions.
Conduct pre-expedition outreach activities, including:
School or partner site visits and workshops.
Participating in informational Zoom sessions for families and students.
Create and share Expedition Outward Bound Outcomes Survey Impact Reports with partners at the end of the season.
Relationship Building & Outreach
Collaborate with Student Services to maintain internal tracking systems supporting consistent and effective external communications.
Build and sustain relationships with current and prospective partners through regular engagement and community presence.
Develop and maintain an annual engagement calendar to guide outreach and events.
Attend monthly community and school events to increase awareness VOBS
Qualifications:
2+ years experience in outdoor/experiential education, youth development, or similar educational field.
1+ years experience working with students or families in a formal education or community setting.
Knowledge of Outward Bound philosophies and programs, experiential education, social and emotional learning skills and an ability to disseminate this information to varied audiences through various mediums.
21 years of age as of the start date of employment.
Valid Driver's License
