Overview

The Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) Technical Coordinator (Program Assistant III) plans and coordinates the day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operations for UCC’s Northern Regional Office. The Technical Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to crews to ensure all field crew members are adequately trained and prepared to work in a safe environment. This position reports to UCC’s Northern Regional Coordinator.

Qualifications:

Four years of conservation field experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree is required
Group leadership experience in a formal or informal setting
Ability to complete physically demanding conservation projects in remote locations with variable weather conditions
Basic word processing and data management skills
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience developing and implementing field trainings

Required Skills:

Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, conflict management, and partnership-building skills.
Advanced organizational skills and ability to use multiple data tracking/reporting systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience and comfort with speaking in front of large groups.
Program leadership, professional development, and mentoring experience.

Preferred Skills:

Wilderness First Responder certification
Trail building, layout, and maintenance experience
Commercial pesticide applicator license
Chainsaw fleet management experience
Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, environmental education, conservation, or a related field
