Overview
Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS) department is seeking to hire 15 Youth Corps Team Leader (TL) positions. Team Leader is a temporary, supervisory level classification with the Boulder County Youth Corps summer program. Team Leaders supervise a team of up to 10 adolescents aged 14-17 at a variety of work sites for eight weeks and mentor the development of personal accomplishment, teamwork, and community service with their team members.
This is a hourly, non-benefited position with an anticipated end date of August, 2023. This position will work Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm during training. The schedule during the season varies, but generally the schedule is Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 5:00pm, and Friday 9:00am – 11:00am. This position will work either out of Boulder or Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent AND two years of college coursework and/or field experience, including at least one full summer of experience supervising or teaching a comparable size group of middle and/or high school aged youth.

Basic knowledge of adolescent behavior and group dynamics.
Skill in group facilitation and developing rapport with adolescents.
Ability to lead a team and supervise adolescents in achieving site-specific job objectives.
Strong commitment to cultural responsiveness and inclusion.
