Location: Hybrid – Based at the Nulhegan Basin Silvio O. Conte Wildlife Refuge in Brunswick, VT with travel around Essex County, VT, and telework as work responsibilities allow

ECNRCD is hiring a Working Lands & Nursery Conservation Specialist who is interested in building community to support agricultural producers and conservation work in Essex County, VT. The Conservation Specialist will focus on two of ECNRCD’s major programs. They will provide outreach, education, and technical assistance to working lands managers in Essex County to ensure business viability and environmental health. The incumbent will also manage the District’s conservation nursery, growing trees and shrubs from seed to fulfill orders for restoration work. The position is full-time (40 hrs/wk) and, like all District work, will be primarily grant funded, with the expectation that nursery work will be funded by tree sales in the future. Support and training will be available from the District Manager and a number of partner organizations which the District works in close collaboration with. The ideal candidate will have an interest in taking on the financial and strategic planning of both programs over time.
