Overview

Teen Trailblazers Cohort Leaders are student leaders who facilitate outdoor education programs for middle or high school students at their own school or another school in their community. Using a curriculum developed by Teen Trailblazers, Cohort Leaders lead weekly sessions (typically 6–8 weeks) that inspire students to explore the outdoors, build environmental awareness, and develop practical outdoor skills.

Cohort Leaders receive leadership training, ongoing mentorship, and program support throughout their teaching cycle. They are responsible for adapting lessons to meet the needs of their students, creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment, and fostering confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for nature.

Calling all students in grades 8-12 – become a Teen Trailblazers Cohort Leader and inspire the next generation of outdoor explorers! Cohort Leaders teach Teen Trailblazers’ outdoor education curriculum to middle or high school students through weekly sessions over a 6–8 week program. Along the way, you’ll receive leadership training, mentorship, and ongoing support while building valuable teaching, communication, and project management skills.
As a Cohort Leader, you’ll adapt lessons for your students, create an engaging learning environment, foster teamwork and environmental stewardship, and lead a culminating project (eg. a hike, beach clean-up, habitat restoration, etc).
Cohort leaders can reside in any state in the USA, preferably in a city or suburban area. Cohort leaders may also be eligible outside of the USA – reach out to Maya Bab if interested.
