Position Summary
Vermejo is seeking an experienced Activities Director to lead all aspects of the Activities Department and deliver exceptional, purpose-driven guest experiences. Reporting to the General Manager of Hospitality, this role oversees guides, barn operations, maintenance staff, attendants, and activity programming while ensuring operational excellence, safety, and alignment with TTR’s conservation and hospitality values.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a high-performing Activities team across guided programs, barn operations, and maintenance
Ensure exceptional guest service rooted in Ted Turner Reserves’ “friend, not butler” hospitality philosophy
Oversee daily operations, scheduling, training, payroll, and department budgets
Collaborate cross-functionally with Hospitality, Sustainability, Hunt Operations, Natural Resources, and Marketing
Maintain safety, compliance, asset management, and continuous improvement of SOPs
Serve as a hands-on leader, guiding activities and supporting field operations as needed
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in outdoor activities, hospitality, or experiential travel
Strong organizational, operational, and team-development skills
Excellent guest-facing communication and leadership presence
Ability to thrive in a remote, dynamic environment
Hospitality management or guiding background preferred
