History Program Assistant | YMCA of the Rockies – Snow Mountain Ranch
Love history, education, and the outdoors? Join the YMCA of the Rockies and help bring the stories of the past to life at the historic Rowley Homestead—just outside Rocky Mountain National Park.
As a History Program Assistant, you’ll design and lead engaging history programs for campers and families, give museum tours, support collections and archives, and help preserve historic buildings and artifacts. You’ll work side-by-side with the Museum Director in a hands-on, mission-driven environment where education, community, and adventure come together.
What You’ll Do:
Create and lead interactive history programs and museum tours
Welcome and engage multigenerational guests with meaningful storytelling
Support museum collections, archives, and databases
Help maintain historic buildings and grounds
Collaborate on special events and educational initiatives
Oversee Homestead operations when the Director is away
What We’re Looking For:
Working toward or completed degree in History, Education, Social Studies, or related field
Passion for American history and public education
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable working outdoors and on weekends/holidays
Team-oriented, independent, and mission-driven
