Overview

AloTerra Restoration Services, Inc (AloTerra) is seeking crew members to provide a wide range of ecological restoration projects (i.e., post-fire restoration, river and riparian restoration, wetland mitigation, etc.) for Federal, State, and local clients throughout Colorado. To support our goal of reducing carbon footprint by minimizing travel, candidates should be open to occasional overnight projects lasting 2-4 days a week, depending on the project location and timeline. Working on AloTerra’s professional restoration crews is a great way to apply your natural resources skills to the restoration of ecosystems throughout the Rocky Mountains, while developing advanced restoration skills needed for a career in this amazing field. This job requires daily physical labor in a fast-paced environment, including seeding, installing container plants, harvesting and installing willow cuttings, moving and placing rock, building erosion control structures, installing bioengineering structures, invasive species mitigation, and more. Ecological restoration is multi-disciplinary, attracting successful candidates from a variety of backgrounds. This position is expected to be at least 90% field based. When field work is not available, the employee will perform a variety of office and other support duties.

Duration: Seasonal. 30-40 hours per week. Will consider 20 hours/week if days worked are consistent each week.

Employment Period: March – November, 2024, with the possibility for extension into future years.
Compensation: $18-22/hour, depending on experience. Review after 3 months. We promote from within to Crew Leader and Foreman positions depending on performance of the crew member.

Benefits: Travel time to project sites is paid. Bi-annual boot stipend. Sick, holiday, vacation and Simple IRA retirement plan based on length of employment. Annual bonuses paid based on company and employee performance.

● Desire and ability to travel for work (primarily in the Front Range), including sometimes spending 2-4 days per week away from home

Preferred Skills:

● 1 plus years of experience in ecological restoration, botany, landscaping, natural resources work, or related field work
● Experience working with and maintaining big equipment such as a mini excavator, track skid, or UTV
● Experience driving one-ton pickups, dual rear-wheeled trucks, and hauling trailers
● Current Class A CDL or higher
● Chainsaw certifications S-212 and other and ability to conduct saw maintenance
● First Aid/CPR Certified
● Wilderness First Aid Certified
● MSHA Certified
