Overview

We are hiring Rock Climbing Instructors for the following locations:

Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1st- 5th) – Evergreen, CO
Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6th-12th) – Bailey, CO

Job Duties
Set top ropes and releasable rappels without supervision; Gear management, inventory, and daily inspection
May be asked to co-lead other overnight camp programs from time to time (training will be provided!)
Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities.
Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals
Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants
Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities
Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs

Important Details
Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with one evening off/week and segments of other time off throughout the week.
Position Duration: Training takes place in Colorado May 16 – 29; overnight camp programs run from May 31 through August 1.
Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure.
Starting hourly: $528/week – PLUS room, board, and meals all Summer long!
Additional bonuses for advanced certifications: $125 – $400 per certification (WFA, WFR, SPI)

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp; Driver eligible preferred (20+ years old with valid driver's license)
+1 years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred
Minimum Basic First Aid & CPR certification by the start of camp (and we can point you in the right direction to get this done)
Wilderness First Aid certification is required to work at Camp Windy Peak - BUT we can get you certified before camp!!!

Required Skills:

Personal and/or professional climbing experience required; will be assessed on the following technical skills: trad climbing, building anchors (both traditional and natural), top rope, a variety of climbing knots, and setting up rappels.
