Overview

This is an Americorps position supported by the Mount Adams Institute and placed to work on the Chelan Ranger District in the beautiful North Cascades. Land Stewards will work both independently and in a trail crew setting. The Stewards will work in very remote locations, taking a boat up Lake Chelan and then backpacking to most work sites. Stewards can expect to work with crosscut and chain saws, as well as other tools to help maintain hiking trails.

Qualifications:

-Camping and hiking skills
-Experience using tools

Required Skills:

-Able to hike long distances with a heavy backpack
-Able to use various types of tools for long durations (training is provided)
-Enthusiasm for this position
-Able to work/live respectfully in a diverse group of people
