Overview
Denver Parks and Recreation is seeking a Parks City Inspector to perform inspection work in support of parks operations including supporting utility field locates, reviewing blueprints, maps, and construction drawings, and ensuring compliance with City standards. This position will report to maintenance facility at 678 S. Jason St., Denver. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. with rotating on-call after-hours/emergency response as needed.
Qualifications:
Perform parks operations and construction inspection work to ensure compliance with City standards and ordinances, and enforce compliance by monitoring and re-inspecting work or violations to ensure compliance with standards and specifications, through onsite audits, reviews, and inspections
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with related parties and provide strong customer service in support of job responsibilities
Required Skills:
Assess and evaluate approved construction and improvement plans for conformance with City standards and guidelines and determine the proper course of action to ensure compliance
Perform research and compile information from public and private utility organizations to generate preliminary drawings to assist project engineers or private citizens in locating underground utilities
Interpret and extract data from blueprints, a variety of maps, engineering orders, architectural drawings and building
Preferred Skills:
Education: Graduate from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate
Experience: Two (2) years of experience conducting on-site inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with standards and ordinances
Licensures/Certification(s): This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum
