Overview
The EMS Program Director provides leadership and proactive consultation in responding to the educational needs of NCOAE’s medical programs. The position is responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of appropriate educational and training programs. The program director is responsible for all aspects of NCOAE’s EMS medical program. Additionally, this position will be responsible for EMS accreditation and the implementation of various projects including but not limited to the American Heart Association Training Center. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with the Associate Program Director of EMS.
Qualifications:
• Successful candidates must hold a degree in an EMS, healthcare discipline, health education, or related field from an accredited institution
• Must currently hold or be working towards the NC OEMS Instructor Level I or Level II credentials
• Current credentials as an EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic or related field
Required Skills:
• Prior training and/or teaching experience in healthcare or related area
• Knowledge about methods of instruction, testing and evaluation of students.
• Successful candidates must have field experience in the delivery of out of hospital emergency care.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with online instruction via Learning Management System
• Proven ability to manage and motive staff as a cohesive team
• Credentialed/Certified in Wilderness Medicine
• Understanding of concepts and education in Wilderness Medicine
