Overview
The Assistant Rations Manager works on the Rocky Mountain Rations (field food) team to create a welcoming and supportive environment for NOLS students, staff, and the public. This assistant manager position serves as the lead in special dietary accommodations. The position contributes to all other aspects of Rocky Mountain rations including planning course food, packing food, ordering and inventorying, and educating field faculty and students on basic nutrition and the NOLS bulk rationing system. They also work with the Rations Manager and other Assistant Rations Manager to supervise and train seasonal employees.

– 9 months per year full-time (benefits for the full calendar year)

NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) is a nonprofit global wilderness school that supports thousands of students each year all over the world. Our school began in a small cabin in Sinks Canyon, Wyoming in 1965 as the National Outdoor Leadership School. At that time, we were primarily an outdoors skills school, doing our work in local mountain ranges and exploring what it meant to teach leadership in the backcountry. Today, we are NOLS, a multifaceted wilderness school headquartered in Lander, Wyoming with locations in seven U.S. states and six countries, that supports thousands of students each year all over the world in both field & classroom courses.
