RMI Expeditions is hiring an Expedition Logistics Manager! The RMI Logistics Department is responsible for all the logistics, equipment, and supplies needed to outfit our programs on Mt. Rainier and all the mountains we climb worldwide. The ideal person for this role is a versatile person who enjoys a sense of independence to adapt and solve various challenges. This role comes with a wide variety of jobs, and someone that is not afraid to learn and tackle new things will excel here.

RMI Expeditions is the premier mountain guiding service on Mt. Rainier and Denali. We also guide all the seven summits and many other peaks worldwide. Our busy season is April through September, but we have programs departing every month of the year. We focus on preparing for next summer’s operations, including Denali, and packing for all our international programs in the winter months. We employ over 70 mountain guides during the summer and provide summer housing for nearly all of them. All employees of RMI Expeditions not only enjoy but are encouraged to participate in a free Mt. Rainier Mountaineering Day School and Summit Climb each season.

The RMI Expedition Logistics Manager is responsible for the following:

• Buying, stocking, and packing for all our 250 domestic, 30 international, and 10 Alaska programs.
• Keeping an inventory of over 150 items organized.
• Managing a small team and projects.
• Maintenance of employee housing.
• Overseeing the vehicles used in client transportation.

Pay & Benefits:

This is a salaried position at $50,000 annually. This is a full-time, year-round position that will come with dental and medical after meeting the requirement of 90 days of employment. Accrued sick and vacation leave are also provided for this position. Since we are in a small town outside of Mt. Rainier National Park with few housing opportunities, housing will be provided for, at minimum, the climbing season months (April – September) at no cost. Our employee housing is group-style and is primarily used by our mountain guides. In addition, we offer yearly cost of living adjustments, bonuses, and pay raises based on performance.

• Lots of experience using Microsoft Excel. Excel is a significant component of tracking our needs and equipment.
• Well organized.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience buying and budgeting.
• Basic construction skills.
